Sea Island Elopement (FEB 2021)

Tara + Sal

POSITIVES:

  • The location - this hotel is absolutely stunning. I could spend days creating content there.

  • The brides hair + makeup were flawless…super classic and elegant.

  • Tons of natural light to work with in her room.

  • The couple + their families were super kind and amazing to work with.

  • They booked an artist to paint the ceremony scene.

  • I got to work with Kelli Boyd again (photographer) - she’s always great to work with.

CHALLENGES:

  • The only downside of the venue is that it’s within a close enough proximity to an airport that flying a drone would require additional permissions that we couldn’t get short notice. With that being said, you wouldn’t have known there was an airport nearby - so that's the positive side of it (no noise to interrupt).

  • I had to film everything within two hours based on the timeline.

As I learn more about sound design, I’ll be implementing it more into my films. This is the second film where I’ve utilized sound design and I’m learning to dial it in more every day.

I like for my films to feel polished in that they are professional…but I do want to maintain the integrity of focusing on the couples stories and personalities rather than rely on editing tricks and/or after effects to carry the film. A good story should be able to stand on it’s own before adding in anything fancy.
